Tell us something interesting about yourself.
I was bitten by a dog when I was a child, and I have a scar on my nose as a result of that! I poked the dog to try to get it to play with me, and it bit me. That hasn’t made me scared of dogs, though—I have a Japanese spitz.
If you suddenly had the ability to speak to your dog, what would you have a conversation about?
I’d ask him what he does when I’m not at home! (laughs)
Tell us about your tattoo—what does it mean?
It’s a collection of tools and instruments, and it represents my hobbies, like cooking, sewing, painting, and drawing. It’s a reminder to myself to take time away from work to do the things I like.
What’s a hobby you’d like to pick up?
Macramé! I’ve also tried pottery, but I wasn’t very good at it. (laughs)
What’s the last book you read that you’d recommend to others?
A Little Life, by Hanya Yanagihara. It’s very emotionally intense, and it really draws you into the world of the characters.
