You’re a fresh graduate—what are you up to now?
I have diploma in Apparel Design from Temasek Polytechnic, and it’s quite difficult to find a full-time job now. I’m working part-time to get experience.
Why were you interested in Apparel Design?
I like to sew; I think it’s very fun. I just sewed for three whole years in school!
What would you say your design style is like?
I don’t like to wear the same things as others, that’s why when I design, I normally try not to take elements from other people’s designs, and try to come up with some ideas myself.
Something that most people don’t know about me:
My friends always come to me whenever they need help to fix things or get things done. I do everything from hairstyling, to doing their nails. If they want gel extensions I can do that as well. I learnt everything from YouTube, and just tried them on my friends lor, they’re my guinea pigs!
What do you think of Singapore’s fashion?
I think it’s very ‘normal’. It seems to me that people are all into the ‘Hypebeast’ kind of look, and I personally don’t like it.
So what would you describe your own style as?
Casual, smart casual? I’m not usually formally-dressed.
