A World Away

WEARING

This is your third feature on Shentonista—how do you think your style has changed over time?

I think I’ve definitely moved on from my parka and ripped jeans phase; I’m more into a minimal and monochromatic style now, with just a subtle pop of patterns.

What’s a book that you’d recommend everyone should read?

George Orwell’s 1984—I’m a fan of dystopian fiction, and it’s my favourite book. Even if you’re not much of a book person, there’s also a movie adaptation for you to enjoy!

Do you have any irrational fears?

I have an irrational fear of missing my flights. I always arrive at the airport three hours early and end up being bored and eating.

Where’s a place you’d like to visit?

Iceland! Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach is a must-see for me. Another place I hope to visit is Nepal—there’s something about the mountain scenery that gives me a sense of tranquillity.

Is there anything you’ve purchased and later regretted?

I once spent $40 on a lightsaber chopstick, which I’ve never used!

Pet peeves:

Being an interior designer, my biggest pet peeve is definitely when things aren’t aligned—not just in a space, but anything in general!

Alex was previously seen here and here.
