What’s something silly or untrue you used to believe as a kid?
The first thing that comes to mind is something my grandmother used to do whenever I had hiccups. She used to tell me that if ever wanted to get rid of them, I should tear a little piece of paper or tissue, lick it and stick it on my forehead. I believed that for a little longer than I would care to admit.
The first comic book series that got you interested in comics:
Well, my first foray into comics was with The Adventures of Tintin. I was about 11 when I got my first Tintin comic, which, if memory serves right, was The Shooting Star—that got me hooked. What I love about Tintin is the spirit of adventure each story had, and how each of them was truly unique.
How many comic books do you have in total?
I think the number is at about 80 right now.
If you could be any comic character, who would you be and why?
If I had to pick one, it’ll probably be John Stewart’s Green Lantern. I think it has to do with Green Lantern being able to explore the vastness of space, and being a part of the galactic space police force sounds pretty cool too.
Who, or what, is a hero to you?
“Courage is not the absence of fear, but the ability to carry on in spite of it.” This quote is something that I think of when it comes to what a hero is. Someone who can do what is necessary in spite of the fear—that’s what a hero is in my book.
What’s one hobby you’ve always wanted to develop?
I wish I’d kept up with learning how to play the bass guitar. I fell off the wagon while picking it up and never got back on.
