Fun fact:
I took part in Miss World Singapore a few years ago and won. I was in university at the time, and my father just suggested that I take part. I was quite hesitant about it, but I just gave it a try, thinking I had nothing to lose.
What’s something about the Miss World pageant that most people don’t get to see or know about?
That all the contestants—more than a hundred girls, all from different walks of life—spend a few weeks together somewhere away from home! The year that I took part, I got to spend five weeks in Mongolia.
What’s something not many people know about you?
I can be outgoing and friendly, but I’m good at spending time alone by myself too.
If you could live in a book, what would it be?
The Great Gatsby. The parties all seem so fun, and I like the era it’s set in.
What’s a skill you’d like to have?
I’m quite sure I’m tone deaf, so I’d like to be able to sing! It’d make me a better companion for karaoke outings. (laughs)
If you could say something to your younger self, what would it be?
Be hopeful, because you have your whole life ahead of you.
